Delusions positivists

SEE Out in an article under the title "Faith of the homophobic" , written by Andrew Petry ( here second hand, for non-subscribers).

I will not comment on the interpretation given in the article concerning the scope and limits of the draft Law, as can be found pertinent comments on the subject both of the authorship of Lodi priest as the site of Veritatis Splendor . At least, the opinion of Petry that the unfounded fear of Christians is worth as much as the view of Christians that they do have reason to fear injustice, after all, the columnist said that the allegation is a Christian interpretation of the law so gross that is difficult to believe that good faith is merely his opinion, and do not know that the reference Petry will be consulted when, in the courts, Gay Gag Law is put into execution.

I will, however, comment on a serious problem that I see in the text (indeed, I now discover that Reinaldo Azevedo already made the same comment before me ) is about relativism distillate sickening the article. It is written, there in the pages of SEE:

Killing is a crime not because it is immoral, but because the company understood that life should be preserved.

Do not know if Andre Petry is an atheist. But even that is not so in fact it is at least an "atheist-logical" given that the positions advocated by him are justified only in a universe where there is no God. The fourth way Aquinas - Wednesday via sumitur ex gradibus Thurs inveniuntur in rebus - to prove the existence of God refers exactly to the degree of perfection that exists in the entities. Briefly, Aquinas argues that two things can only be compared if there is a benchmark for comparison, so a being is more beautiful than others because there is a benchmark of Beauty, the Absolute, which things are approaching more or less . And that God is Absolute

Reference removed, what remains? Either nothing, or arbitrariness. If there were nothing, then nothing could be compared with anything, but this option is too repugnant to human intelligence, comparing things all the time. It remains as an alternative "acceptable", arbitrariness. God is no longer the Beautiful, so beautiful are the models that have the body within the standards dictated by "fashion", and beautiful are the frames that are within the last artistic movement. God is no longer true, then truth is what you believe. God is no longer the fair, and then - and this is the thesis Petry - justice is what "the company felt" it was fair.

It is easy to see that legal positivism leads to atheism at least practical, after all, what is the reason to adopt as a criterion of Justice the "definition of the Society" if there were Suma Justice to which recourse? If you need to resort to arbitrariness, it is because there is no absolute. If the law is positivist, it is because he recognizes (at least) implying that there is no God. And if people live in an atheistic society, they inevitably lose sight of the Absolute and tend increasingly to arbitrary - as a result, more and more to society, the high level of Infallible Magisterium to define right and wrong, will degenerate into chaos and barbarism, because without absolutes, it's survival of the fittest - and always just a matter of time until the "stronger" to discover this.

You can not always be impartial, to safeguard the most basic rights of human beings, we must loudly proclaim that God exists. Because, if we go back the banner of God, nature, abhors a vacuum that will fill the space with something - but this thing, not being absolute, is necessarily relative. And there are values that can not be relativized.

Such as human dignity, for example. Needless to say principles such as protection of life can not be left to "understand the company" should exist or not, as distinctly separate companies can understand the problem and in this story, those who suffer are the weak - like the Jews War in Germany or the Christians in Cuba today, all victims of a state that would subscribe fully what is defended by Petry. It's not fair that men, created by God for love and for love, are subject to the arbitrariness of people who do not believe in him. Positivism Andrew Petry is potentially genocidal. You need to bring God back into public squares. Urge raise Cruz loud! Before the rubble of modernity - that goes inevitably to self-destruction - ending by burying in his fury atheist, even more innocent.

Article in bad taste, based on assumptions and faults with an equally absurd conclusion.

    Jorge,

Anne's comment (you see how things are!) I did find this article that is the time when he did not know his blog.

Congratulations on the text, which is smart, deep and important time in which we live.

There is a certain "idolatry of the majority", where everything, even the core values are being placed in question and voting, which in itself is absurd. Only in a world that turned its back on God is possible such a situation.

Again congratulations, and that the Holy Spirit lighting up his mind to continue the building with texts as good and necessary.

    Godspeed.
